New Hope is not a fancy place. The women sleep in bunk beds in a dorm room and share a bathroom. Everyone pitches in with the daily chores of cleaning, meal preparation, laundry, and readying the facility for 12-step meetings and activities. We operate on the AA principles of one alcoholic (drug addict) helping another through sponsorship and the 12 step program.
For the first 72 hours each women is assigned a big sister who take care of everything they need, get antiquated with the house and rules.
After 72 hours, each women is expected to follow the rules and daily schedule of the house. They will attend and participate in all meetings.
New Hope is not a medical or therapeutic community, nor do we staff counselors or doctors. We cannot accept any women who are being treated for major medical or mental disorders.
We do allow intakes and medications for the following medical conditions:
Under no circumstances are narcotics allowed. For any condition not listed please call the house to verify if you qualify.
Dorm Ladies may have visitors after the first 72 hours. Visitation is Saturday and Sunday only. Saturdays visitation hours are from 2:00 pm till 7:00 pm. Sundays visitation hours are from 2:00 pm till 4:50 pm and from 6:00 pm till 7:00 pm.
Dorm Ladies are not allowed to use the telephone for the first 72 hours. You will then be entitled to 5 phone calls a day. Phone calls are 3 minutes for local calls and 5 minutes for long distance.
